ADSL-Router bekommt man oft von seinem Internet-Provider (z.B. 1&1, Congster, Congstar,...) bei Vertragsabschluss.

Häufig werden in so einem Gerät mehrere Funktionen gebündelt:
 
* ADSL-Modem
 
* Router ggf. mit Sicherheitsfunktionen wie [[Firewall]]
 
* [[Ethernet]]-Switch
 
* WLAN-Access-Point  (Diese Funktion habe ich gerne separat, z.B. wegen der Stadort-Frage)

Von 1&1 habe ich den [[DrayTek]] Vigor2500We bekommen. Die WLAN-Funktion habe ich abgeschaltet.
