* Bildschirm: OLED kapazitativ

* Interner Speicher: 16 GB

* Speicherkarte: miniSD 32 GB

* USB Host-Funktion über USB OTG

* GPS

* Taste: "Menue"

* Auswahl: "Stettings"

* Auswahl: "Connectivity"

* Auswhal: "Settings"

* Auswahl: Destinations

* Auswahl: + Access Point    (bzw. "Internet", wenn der Accesspoint schon grundsätzlich vorhanden ist...)

** Automatically Check for access points: NO

** Select access point: WLAN

** WLAN name: SSID of your hidden WLAN

* Für nachträglichen Ändern der Sicherheitseinstellungen (nachdem der zusätzliche Access Point eingerichtet wurde)

** Select: Settings > Connectivity > Settings > Destinations > Internet

** Tap on your Internet access point

** Tap on: "WLAN security settings"

** Tap on: "EAP plug-in settings"

** Activate: EAP-LEAP,  (EAP-TLS, EAP-SIM, EAP-AKA, EAP-PEAP, EAP-TTLS,  EAP-FAST)

** Configue EAP-LEAP with the Userid & Password you have got from your company for WLAN/VPN connections...

Nokia N8 wifi WPA2 Enterprise with no authentication certificate cannot connect

The company I work at has a WPA2 Enterprise wifi, MSCHAPv2 authentication with no authentication certificate.

I cannot connect my Nokia N8, the respons is "Auhtentication failed"

Some of my  colleagues have Android phones and they  have no problems connecting.

Settings on my Nokia N8 are:

WLAN Security Settings:

WPA/WPA2 - EAP

EAP Plugin Settings

Allow EAP-TTLS

Personal Certificate - not defined

Authority Certificate - not defined

User Name - user defined

Realm In Use -Domain\username

Realm

EAP-MSCHAPv2

User Name - username

Prompt Password - Yes

Password - ****

Anyone have a solution on how to connect a Nokia phone to a WPA2 Enterprise with no authentication certificate?

Thanks

think I found the place to set this "EAP-MSCHAPv2 settings":

Settings -> Connectivity -> Settings -> Destinations -> Internet (access points) -> "your" access point -> WLAN security setting -> EAP plug-in settings -> EAP-TTLS

(or as in my case EAP-PEAP) -> and now it comes:

in the upper right corner there it says "Settings" next to it is a little arrow (close to the battery status).

You have to click on this little arrow and then you enter an additional panel where you can access "EAP-MSCHAPv2" :smileyhappy:

It sounds that most likely the WLAN network (AP or LEAP authentication server) is not configured with long enough "authentication timeout" and it forces phone to initiate fresh authentication attempt before user has had enough time to enter his/her LEAP credentials.

There's a solution for this.  Your phone does indeed have an option of pre-configuring the LEAP username/password in to the phone settings, so you don't have to type username and password during the actual LEAP authentication happens.

Basically you just need to create (or edit existingif you already have it) Internet Access Point (IAP) on the phone and enter save your LEAP credentials to there.

Settings -> Connectivity -> Settings -> Destinations -> Internet (or some other) -> edit the existing IAP that points to this particular WLAN network or create new IAP for this WLAN

Inside the IAP settings ensure that:

"WLAN name" matches SSID of the network

WLAN Security mode is set correctly: WPA/WPA2 or 802.1x depending on your network

then go to "WLAN security settings" and ensure that

WPA/WPA2 mode is set to EAP

then go to the "EAP plug-in settings" and ensure that

EAP-LEAP is authentication method is enabled via long press (disable rest of the EAP's)

Select EAP-LEAP in order edit LEAP settings

Enter your LEAP username and password and make sure that "Prompt password" is disabled.

Exit the IAP configuration with Back and make sure that your newly created/edited EAP-LEAP enabled IAP is prioritized correctly within the Destination (you probably want it to have higher priority than the 3G cellular packet data connection).

Now that your LEAP username and password have been saved into the IAP settings, your phone will not prompt you to enter those when you connect to this particular WLAN network.

Hope this helps.
