MPEG Motion Pictures Expert Group

Die Gruppe entwicklet Standards für AudioCodecs und VideoCodecs. Dazu gehören:

  • MP3 steht für MPEG-1 Layer 3
  • MPEG-2 für DVB-T und DVD
  • DivX bei dem die Video-Kompression nach MEPG-4 erfolgt.
