MPEG Motion Pictures Expert Group

Die Gruppe entwicklet Standards für AudioCodecs und VideoCodecs. Dazu gehören:

MP3 steht für MPEG Layer 3
MPEG-2 für DVB-T und DVD
DivX bei dem die Video-Kompression nach MEPG-4 erfolgt.
